On Tuesday, there was a wrestling dual held in Altus.
It was for most wrestlers who were available to wrestle. It started at 6 p.m. and was held at the Hoover Center. Altus was the team who Duncan was facing off against. One wrestler who was in the duel was Carlos Hinshaw.
”I got pinned by a take-down,” Hinshaw said of his experience in the duel.
He said that he needed more time to prepare for the duel in order to do well. However, he did say that he was ready for it.
The duel was won by the Duncan demons with a score of 43 to 33.
Scoring was based on various objectives in matches. If you pin someone its 6 points, if you win its three points, and if you tech someone you get 5 points. You can win your match by a pin or the time runs out and you have more points then your opponent and you can also tech them which is really good for your team and also yourself because you get 5 points and also you can get bragging rights.
There are only five tournaments left on the schedule, either Varsity or JV.
The event was a dual that means there are two teams such as Duncan and Altus there are weight classes and whatever weight you wrestle in you will wrestle the same weight as the kids on the other team and if you win against the kid you wrestle your weight you get your points for your team.
