For many people, 2020 was a bad year because of COVID-19, killer hornets, and political debates, some students choose to do distance learning from home.
Now it is 2021, and the students that were previously doing distance learning are now returning to school for the new school year. Although some students prefer online school, but it still has its challenges.
Counselor Bubba Clark said “We are happy to have the students back and that he thinks that online learning would be hard because there is no teacher but even though the classroom can get packed but at least they have a teacher to ask questions to.”
Israel Hernandez was among the virtual students returning to in-person learning.
“Online was not hard, but I prefer real school because at a certain point you can get really behind and I don’t think that it is a great idea to get behind,” Hernandez said. “And I feel really great about coming back because I can keep up with my work.
“I don’t really have to worry about not doing any of my work when i’m at home doing online school but when i’m in real school I can get everything done and not have to worry about not doing any of my work when i’m at home.”
Kelsey Fitzgerald said she is glad to return to school after being virtual most of the first semester.
Fitzgerald said online wasn’t that hard, but she feels good to come back to school.
“You should not do online if you get distracted easily because you can forget about your work and can fall behind and fail,” she said. “But with real school you can get stuff done without any distractions.”
