On Thursday, the Demons basketball team played the Altus Bulldogs in Altus. The Demons won the game 40-22.
Seventh-grader Jayce Ramirez said, ‘’ We didn’t play our best but we still won.’’
Ramirez said the team could have done better if there was more of a focus on teamwork.
‘’We need to start playing as a team instead of trying to make the big plays,” he said. “I need to start making better passes to my teammates.”
The game was close until halftime. After Halftime the Demons took off, scoring 20 points in the second half.
‘’If we would have started out hot we could have put up twice the points,” Ramirez said. “The shots just weren’t falling for us.”
Blake Wilson, seventh-grader, also said the team magic really took off in the second half.
‘’I played good,” Wilson said. “I passed the ball a lot which led to points.”
Although he felt accomplished for his game play, he said there were areas he could improve.
‘’I need to work more on my three-point shooting,’’ Wilson said. ‘’I think one of the best things I do is play great defense.”
The Demon’s new record is 7 and 0.
The Demon’s next game will be against the Lawton Tomlinson Wolves. The game will be at 4 p.m. Monday with the boys playing at home and the girls playing at Lawton Tomlinson.
