Middle school education station students will be at the STEM innovation lab at the high school in the various coming days. Sixth grade students toured on April 27, seventh grade on April 28, and the eighth graders on May 5. Every grade will leave at 8:00 and come back at 11:00. The students will be touring and even working at the lab, learning more about STEM and building a VEX spring race car and working to see how fast they can make it. This education station will be the last one of the year, and for the eighth graders going it will be the last one they will ever attend.
There are about 80 students across all grades that have participated in education station throughout the year. There also have been about four or five meetings for each grade throughout the year in the eighth grade science lab and the cafeteria that the students have worked on projects and built various things that teach students STEM skills, as well as communication, teamwork, and building skills. Education station focuses on helping gifted students from second grade through eighth grade.
“I am super excited for students to spend time in the Innovation Lab at the high school,” says education station director Stacy Smith. “Of course, I will be sad to see the eighth graders leave Education Station, but I know they are on the right path and they will be in good hands,”
