Ever since school has started the 8th-grade students haven’t been able to get all the food they want. This year at the middle school there are almost 900 students, and most of them are 6th graders.
Allie Foster says her opinion about her lunch. She has a lot to talk about. Foster said “ I am very upset because I believe that we need food to nourish our bodies.”A way that Allie said to prevent that from happening is to save food for the 8th graders, or just have a special thing for them. She said that instead of spending the money on different things, maybe they should use it to order more food.
Carter Riddles had some feelings about this lunch deal going on. He thinks that he should get more food because if not he would be more mean and we don’t eat till 12:50. Riddles said “ they should save us more food and stop letting kids go for seconds at the ala cart, because 6th graders have been eating all our food.” Carter believes that students shoudl bring their lunch, so 8th graders will have food to eat.
As you can see, the 8th graders don’t get as much food as 6th and 7th. Knowing it is going to take some time to get used to not getting everything they want, 8th graders get to have an option to have a snack during the day, normally during the 3rd or 4th hour. Food is a big deal for 8th graders.

The only time I get an actual full course meal that will leave me full after lunch is if I bring my lunch or my mom brings me take-outs. Food shortage is really a big deal for 8th graders, since we ARE the last ones to get lunch everyday, and we’ve been at this school the longest, all we simply ask for is a little respect. (as teachers ask from us)
