The movie Mortal Kombat came out. The pit stage which wasn’t in the first Mortal Kombat is as iconic as sub-zero and scorpion. This scene was included in the 2021 movie during the fight between Jax and Raiko, two of the main characters. The character Jax was in the Original Mortal Kombat movie for about 10 seconds, and was then recast in the other movie: Mortal Kombat: Annihilation. In my opinion, this movie is terrible. Other characters that were in MK: Annihilation were Milina, Sidel, Jade, Nightwolf, Rain and others.
In my opinion, the new Mortal Kombat was better than Mortal Kombat: Annihilation. Which isn’t saying much, but in comparison it was very good. Even if Annihilation wasn’t good, the games are just like the movies. Great Mortal Kombat 11 is the most recent game, with DLC characters like the Joker, Robocop, Spawn, Rambo, and The Terminator. They also added new characters like Geras, Kollector, and Centurion.
Mortal Kombat (2021) has set up a sequel with Johnny Cage, and will probably also have Shoa Khan the big bad from the first three MK games. If the movies continue past just two movies, we might also get to see Shinnok the big bad from 4 to Deadly alliance. Formerly in MK movies, Shinnok was just some evil guy, but in the games he was a fallen elder god. Ermac, who was in MK 2, is another character who might be added later on. Everyone thought Ermac was a secret fighter like Reptile, who appeared in the Mortal Kombat movie. The Sub-Zero actor Joe Taslim has also signed on for four more MK movies.
