Rumors of going virtual in Duncan Middle School have been spreading fast, especially in the past few weeks. COVID-19 has made a comeback in 2022. Duncan now has a total of 813 cases. Since people have been going out in public without masks, and not being vaccinated, COVID-19 runs free. Since there’s another variant, a more contagious strand that can infect anyone who doesn’t have a mask on and isn’t within six feet distance from the infected person. If you do not take careful precautions, it is possible to get the variant even with the vaccine.
Miss. Turner, a teacher at Duncan middle school thinks that the rumors about becoming virtual are false.
“No, I don’t think we will be going virtual. Everyone is starting to come back from being sick. I don’t have a preference, I haven’t seen proof that people I know have gotten sick even with the vaccine.” says Turner.
Turner tries to stop herself from getting covid as she tries to make sure she takes her vitamins every day and always wears a mask. She definitely makes sure she always washes her hands after visiting a public place.
Even though COVID-19 is spreading very rapidly we should all support one another and try to help pull the cases of COVID-19 and any new sicknesses down as much as possible.
