Spring Break is right around the corner and coming up pretty fast.
Some people participate in activities for the week, like going out of town or just staying in. Spring Break goes from March 11 to March 18.
Many students and staff are excited for spring break, although staff members have to come back a day earlier than the students.
Carter Riddles, an eighth-grade student, explains how he will spend his spring break. Annually, Riddles and his family go to Branson, Missouri, for a getaway. He goes annually because his grandparents own a lake-house down there, so his family doesn’t have to pay any resort expenses.
Riddles said he was excited for the break.
“I’m very excited,” he said. “There are lots of fun activities to do down there, and I don’t have to worry about school and everything else. I believe that Spring break should be longer. I need more time away from school so I can stay in Branson longer.”
Riley Hutton, a seventh-grade student, expressed his opinions on Spring Break.
He believes Spring Break should be longer for many reasons. His plans for Spring Break include going to the mountains. He’s excited because he gets to ski.
“It’s Spring Break, and people who don’t go on a vacation for Spring Break could be bored at home for a long time,” Hutton said. “Also, we need to stay in school to learn because of all the snow days our classes are weeks behind.”
He said he looks forward to leaving for his vacation.
“I like skiing,” Hutton said. “I would say I’m decent at it. There are also many other things to do there with my family, and I love the mountains.”
Chuck Wagner, a seventh-grade social studies teacher, said his plans for Spring Break include on staying home and taking a mental break from school. He is very excited for spring break and believes it should be longer, as long as he’s still getting paid.
“I’m gonna stay home, watch baseball, and play my video game: ‘Lord of WarCraft,’ ” Wagner said. “I’m excited for Spring Break and for any upcoming break ever. I think it should be longer as long as I’m getting paid; I work by the salary not hourly.”
These are a few ways students and staff will be spending their break. Others prefer to stay at home, while others will go on vacation for a break.

Not gonna lie, I don’t want spring break. The year is going by way too fast for my liking.
