The Academic reporters asked eighth grade students about having no more Fridays and how that affects grades. As of this week, we have no more Fridays till the end of school. This is to give students and teachers a break, even if it’s just a day. The academic reporters asked eighth grade students some questions about how having four day weeks and how that will affect grades.
The first eighth grade student the Academic reporters asked was Fabian Duran. Duran said having to not come to school on Fridays is good. Duran thinks having no school on Fridays will affect the way grades are or will be. Duran thinks that they will be given more work, since some teachers have to cram more work into the school year. Duran thinks that work will be worth more work than usual. Duran thinks that having only four day weeks will not affect state testing.
The second eighth grade student the Academic reporters asked was Zekie Eckert. Eckert says that he likes having no school on Fridays, because there’s just no school so he has a longer weekend. Eckert thinks that having no Fridays won’t affect grades because it’s an extra day to get your work done before the next week begins. Eckert thinks that the teachers will give less work because we don’t have as much time in the week to complete work. Eckert thinks that the points/grades will stay the same for work. Last but not least, Eckert thinks that having no more Fridays will not affect state testing.
The last eighth grade student the Academic reporters asked was BrieAnna White. White feels good about not having to come to school on Fridays anymore because she gets to sleep in and not have to come to school. White thinks that having no Fridays will not affect grades plus some kids got their grades up before the four day weeks. White thinks the teachers will give us the same amount of work. White thinks that the points will stay the same for the four day weeks. White thinks that the four day weeks will not make it harder for state testing.
