Wrestling season has begun, it started on Thursday, October 20th, and it is expected to end in mid February. Many people are excited about wrestling season because it is a very exhilarating sport to watch.
Bernice Lewis, an eighth-grade athlete, said she’s excited about wrestling season because she can express herself. Lewis said her least favorite thing about wrestling is the headgear because it gets very annoying in the ring. She says, the most important person to her and the person who inspired her to do wrestling is her dad because he was also a wrestler, and her favorite thing about wrestling is that she has her team with her at all times. She said she thinks she’ll do well this season because she already knows some moves.
Feryn Perce, an eighth-grade athlete, said she’s excited and ready to be aggressive for wrestling season. Her least favorite thing about wrestling is the clothing because she said she’s ”Insecure” and she also said the person that inspired her to do wrestling was her stepdad. Her favorite thing about wrestling is getting to release anger without getting in trouble, and she thinks she’ll do good this season.
Emma Bridges, a seventh-grade athlete, said she’s excited about wrestling because she thinks it’s fun and her least favorite thing about wrestling are the shoes. The person who inspired her to do wrestling was Jacobi Stricklin and her favorite thing about wrestling is getting to wrestle different people that have different skill levels. She also thinks she’ll do well this season because she’s been practicing.
Sophia Kinchlow, another seventh-grade athlete, said she thinks she’ll do okay this year because she said she’s scared to start wrestling. She also thinks she has a good team this year because there are a lot more girls this year than there were last year. She’s excited to go to different places and she also decided to do wrestling because it fascinated her, and she also said she likes wrestling because it’s different from other sports.
Lastly, Kristina Ortiz, an eighth-grade athlete, said it’s her first time ever trying wrestling so she’s a little nervous this season, she also said she has a good team because she has a strong team. The one thing she’s excited about is the PS4 in the lounge room. She also decided to do wrestling this year because one of her friends did it and didn’t want to do it alone. She also said she likes wrestling because it shows your strength and you don’t have to run as much.
