Every year, the Duncan Middle School Band and the Duncan High School Band join together to host a mattress sale as a fundraiser.
The sale helps the group raise money so members can buy their music for their competition and music just to learn. With this money the band is also able to purchase new instruments for the students to play and learn. This year will be the 10th year for fundraiser to support.
This year’s sale is set for Saturday at DMS.
The sale will be open between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. for customers to purchase mattresses, adjustable bed frames, luxury pillows and mattress protectors.
Raylee Towell, seventh-grade band student at DMS, said, “We go to stores and tell the companies about it to see if they would be willing to advertise it or buy the product. We are going to upgrade the band and give the rest of the money to the school to help with the things the school needs.”
Mattress sizes come range from twin to king. The starting prices of each of the mattresses included twin at 249 dollars, full at 309 dollars, queen at 349 dollars and king at 549 dollars. The sale is through BeautyRest.
Towell said she is also excited to sell the mattresses because the students who participate in the fundraiser will get money from what they sell, as well as a new pillow.
While there is an in-person sale going on Saturday, the band has also released a link to help customers with product information and information about the sale.
