Sports editor talks about spring sports and super bowl

In sports at Duncan Middle School. Wrestling and Basketball are officially over and the spring sports began this week. The spring sports are Track, Baseball, Soccer, Tennis, and Golf. Anyone that doesn’t play a sport in the springtime will be in a regular class or offseason. This being the first week for spring sports nothing has happened yet. All sports have high hopes for this season. In sports around the nation. The Super Bowl is on February 12, 2023. The teams playing are the Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles. Both teams went 14-3 in the regular season. The Eagles beat the Giants and 49ers. The Chiefs beat the Bengals and the Jaguars. The Chiefs quarterback is Patrick Mahomes and Mahomes won the MVP award for the NFL. The Eagle’s quarterback is Jalen Hurts. He is in his second year and is only 24 years old. In college football, Texas University and Oklahoma University will be leaving the Big 12 for the SEC in the summer of 2024. The Sooners finished the season at 6-7 and lost to Florida State in the Cheez-it Bowl. Meanwhile, the Longhorns finished 8-5 and Lost to Washington in the Alamo Bowl. Both teams look to reset and do better this upcoming season.
