ADE stands for Association of Duncan Educators, they are the people that set up the teams with members that they feel are prepared to go to the capitol and talk with the legislators about changes or bills they need to pass or not pass.
On February the 17th, Duncan Middle School will be hosting a legislative breakfast where many officials such as
Marcus Mcentire, Brad Boles, Criss Kid, and Jessica Graven will visit with teachers about legislative issues. While they are here they will not only talk with the teachers, they will also go into the classrooms to visit with the students and talk with them about legislation and why it is important.

The meeting held on February 6th only had one attendee from Duncan middle school, that of which being, Mr. Miller. None of the other legislators could go because they were busy. Typically one of the members goes to the capitol every Tuesday during March and April
When they go they meet with the legislators and they advocate for the teachers in Oklahoma. They persuade the legislators to pass bills and to not pass the other bills that could have a bad or positive effect on the education of Oklahoma students and the education system, the values of the schools and what they think is suitable for the classroom and what is not.
So in conclusion, it is important that we have people to advocate for us at the capitol so that our voices can be heard and we are able to have an impact on the decisions that would have been made for us.
