The Duncan Demons boys soccer team is competing in a round robin tournament today. This tournament marks the official start to the competitive portion of the DMS soccer season.
The tournament will be played on the Macarthur fields.
“I’m ready for this season,” Brandt Stocking said. “I am also liking this season very well. I think it’s going to go very well, and it’s going to be fun.¨
Stocking is an eighth-grade player of the soccer team this year. This is Stocking’s eighth year to play soccer in some capacity. He said his favorite position is mid-fielder.
¨It is very fun, and I also like my team a lot,” he said. “I get along with my team very well.¨
Isaak Salazar, another eighth-grade player, said he’s also ready to get the soccer season underway.
“I am ready for the season,” Salazar said. “I am very excited for this season to begin.¨
Salazar said he thinks he is pretty good at soccer. He said he enjoys playing the sport and likes the people on his team.
Gerardo Moran, this year’s team captain, is also excited about this year.
Moran plays striker. This is his second year to play soccer, starting with Duncan Middle School’s first season, which took place last year.
¨It is going very well so far,” he said.
Eighth-grade player Brycen Maddox is excited about this year’s soccer season, especially since soccer is his favorite sports.
This year, Maddox switched from running track to playing soccer so he could follow the game he loves. This year, Maddox is playing either right wing or striker. He is also a captain for the soccer team.
¨I love that soccer season has already started,” Maddox said. “It is going very good and its fun.
