Duncan middle school is hosting their second dance of the school year, taking place on March 24th. The theme of the dance is Mardi Gras, Mardi Gras is a holiday celebrated in New Orleans, Venice, and Brazil. The French name Mardi Gras translates to Fat Tuesday. It is celebrated with parades, parties, food, and floats.
The dance is being hosted by Stucco, and NJHS. NJHS will be taking admission, and Stucco will be handling concessions. Admission will cost five dollars. Their sponsors are Derrick Miller, and Cathy Barker. The music will be taken care of by Mr. Monteath.
The dance will be from 6:30 to 8:00pm. Face paint is allowed, along with an eye mask, but you must still be recognizable. Along with the dress code, anything against the dress code can and will get you kicked out. The dance floor will be in the gymnasium, and the commons will be available for concessions, and hang outs.
Everyone is allowed to come as long as you havent been suspended three days prior to the dance, you must have at least a C in all of your classes. Also shoes will not be allowed on the gym floor, and food will not be allowed in the gym either.
