The first Fellowship of Christian Atheltes meeting took place Wednesday with more than 230 students attending.
Jimmy Harwood, a tri-athlete, was the guest speaking for the FCA meeting. Harwood talked about how dedication to sports can relate to dedication to God.
Eighth grade, which has the last lunch of the day, had the most students in attendance with 93. Sixth grade had 77 students at the meeting. And there were 62 seventh-graders during the first lunch period.
Lana Fitts led each of the FCA meetings and introduced Harwood. The pizza for the meeting was sponsored by New Life Baptist Church West.
The club’s next event is See You at the Pole, set for Sept. 27 before school.
