For this year’s Student Council, two people from Duncan Middle School were interviewed. Ashton Hall, the assistant sponsor to the Student Council. Hall helps the sponsor when there is too much for the sponsor to do or if the sponsor needs a helping hand. She plans on helping the kids be leaders and she hopes they will be leaders to kids below them. She wanted to be the student council assistant because she wanted to help the kids have a change and to have a voice for this Middle School.
Every year, DMS runs a campaign to get new student council officers, this year the student council president is Ruby Miller. Miller’s plans for this year is to make our campus clean and keep it clean. She was a representative for her classes in 6th and 7th grade. This year, which is her 8th grade year, she is the president. She stated, “My role model, which is my sister, I have wanted to take the same path as my idol, Ava Miller, my sister, I think she was very successful in what she did, and so I will try to do as well as she did.”
The Student council president, Ruby Miller, wants to start including everyone at DMS because “We are one!” She stated. She went on to say that “I have a desire to serve others any way that I can as well as include others in everything that I do, and I am ready to do it now!”
she stated, “Student Council is not only an opportunity to serve others but it’s a great chance to get involved and help the school out with many things.” She went on to say, “I also think Stuco is something that could reflect your major, resume, and in high school. You are never too young or old to help a middle school or a high school!”
