The softball team had a game against Chickasha not too long ago. I think it was a good game, but we did lose by a lot.
I think the girls were doing really well in the beginning. We were playing well and supporting each other like a good team should.
Sometimes when someone makes a mistake, it ruins their attitude towards the game. When people get upset, they will sometimes start taking their anger out on everyone else. During the game someone did that, and it started making everyone else angry and mad at each other. Then we started playing badly, missing the balls, striking out.
Only one person scored on the varsity team, and Chickasha scored 12 runs.
JV did somewhat well. They definitely scored more than varsity did. The score was 9-9, but they put in more work and supported each other more and helped and fixed mistakes.
I think both JV and varsity should’ve practiced more before the game even if they felt ready or not ready. They could have thrown more, did little drills with teammates or practiced swing mechanics.
The coaches love us to death, but if we’re not putting in effort or even trying they will say something like “If you’re not going to give your all then go get your schedule changed.”
It makes the coaches really mad when teammates aren’t loud in the dugout supporting their teammates when they’re up to bat or when they’re out on the field.
