History club talks about events within the historical period. Remembering, telling, and sharing events with history is the DMS History Club’s goal to help students know what history is all about. Events like 9/11, D-Day, Pearl Harbor, and The OKC bombing are the most events talked about. Events like these are a part of history but they stand to make people what they are today.
The History Club just recently had their meeting in the morning. For the most part, all that was done was a tutorial on how to set up the flags for the School and also to start setting up the Hispanic History Month stands. Other than that nothing else was discussed. The History Club did have two meetings. In basic terms, the first was discussing what they would do and the second was doing it.
The History Club recently engaged in Hispanic History Month. To honor the Hispanic Society they set up a table with many Hispanic artifacts. Flags, souvenirs, tools, etc are all located on the table. They also put up some posters around DMS.
