My opinion on Duncan Public Schools is mixed… I’ve been going to Duncan for practically my whole life. I moved to Duncan when I was 6 years old. I went to Emerson Elementary and stayed there till 5th grade. I went virtual in 5th grade because all my friends were and I thought there was no point cause I would have no one. Once I got into 6th grade I thought it was so cool and I was going to have the best 3 years of my life. Well, no. 6th grade was super fun and I loved it.
7th grade was a disaster. I got to such a big stage where I was depressed and just turned into a bad kid in general. Then my amazing science teacher helped me get through all of the stuff I was going through. Never in my life have I met a teacher as great as him. He was so nice and always listened when I was talking nonstop .onstopver judged and talked through the situations with me. I was so sad to go into 8th grade because 7th grade was my absolute best year of middle school yet.
8th grade is boring and I think the past 8th graders were hyping it up too much. It’s too much and the teachers rush more because they “expect more” and of course, I get that but give us a break… we shouldn’t have to feel so scared because you only give us a day to finish a whole packet of work. We have other classes and must also get our job done there. It’s just the beginning so far but it is just exhausting and tedious. I have hardly any friends in any of my classes.
