The Duncan Band is getting ready for its Christmas concert, and all level of band students get to be a part of it.
Duncan Middle School students in beginning band and the seventh- and eighth-grade band will get to perform at 7 p.m. Monday at the Duncan High School Auditorium.
The DMS students have had combined rehearsals to be able to better prepare for the Christmas concert. Additionally, the Duncan High School’s percussion ensemble and concert band will perform.
Bennett Waid, a sixth-grade band student, said, “I feel confident about the concert.”
Waid isn’t the only who is excited about the meeting.
Lee Goble, another sixth-grade band member, said he thinks the concert will turn out great. Goble plays the trumpet for the beginning band.
This will be the first band concert of the year. Some band students have already performed for an audience this year, when they played their instruments during the Veterans Day assembly on Nov. 10.
Eighth-grade percussion students London Calhoun and Ali Hodges said they are excited about the concert and look forward to seeing how the younger band students will perform.
“The seventh-graders will turn out to be great during their performance,” Calhoun said.
Hodges had similar thoughts. She said she felt confident in the younger band members.
