Duncan High School has a homecoming dance in the first and second semesters. There are also dress-up days for homecoming week. The dress-up days include Duncan High School and Duncan Middle School. People think of homecoming as just another week for dress-up days but it is a week where Duncan High School can celebrate the candidates for the winter and spring sports. There is one day a week they have a pep assembly and recognize the picked candidates for this year’s 2024 winter homecoming, that night at the basketball game at halftime they pick the 2024 homecoming queen and king for this year.
This year’s dress-up days are: Monday- Netflix binge (Pajama/ comfy clothes), Tuesday- You’ve Got a Friend in Me (Dynamic duo/ twin day), Wednesday- Barbenhymer (Pink Out vs. Blackout), Thursday- Space jam (Jerseys), Friday- Dress up as your favorite movie character. The night game that will be holding homecoming is USA-themed for all the Duncan students.
Layla Talley had an opinion on dress-up days and said, “Yes, I like dress-up days because they are fun to do.” She also said, “I sometimes dress up when it is a dress-up week.”
Addison Rowell had her own opinion on another event for Hoco, “Yes, I think our middle school should have a homecoming dance because it would be fun.”
Homecoming is not just an event people get dressed up for, it is an occasion for Duncan alumni to come and reunite and catch up with former classmates.
