Wrestling is a sport that DMS offers to 7th and 8th-grade students. Girls wrestling recently had duals.
Sydney Kinchlow is an 8th-grade wrestler. Kinchlow has been in wrestling for two years so far.
She says “ Duals are very fun and something I mainly love about duals is that we work together as a team and not alone.” ‘What’s something physical you could change during a dual” She states, “ Probably the order that it goes. I wish it would just be small too big.” She goes by saying, “ Don’t get me wrong, duals are super fun but I would prefer tournaments because I don’t like working by myself and I get more matches.”
Dani Messenger is another 8th-grade wrestling student. Messenger has been doing wrestling for 4 years.
She says “ Duals are super fun but the main thing I love about them is being with all my girls and them being there” She goes by saying, “ Even though I do work physically hard in all my tournaments and duals I could work harder.” She also says, “ Duals are super fun but tournaments are better because there are more teams to go against and more matches to win.”
Raelyn Hamil is also another 8th-grade wrestling student. This is her first year ever doing wrestling.
Hamil says “ My favorite thing about duals is seeing my girls win and myself.” She also says “ I do work hard through my matches but I could probably work harder than I do.” She also says, “ Duals are cool but I would prefer tournaments because I get more matches in and I can realize my mistakes before I go onto the mat to wrestle.”
Kyla Vorhees is a 7th-grade wrestling athlete. Vorhees has been doing wrestling for 2 years now and her favorite wrestling move is a double chicken wing.
She says “ My favorite thing about duals is that we get to go against other people.” She goes by saying, “ I work hard in general but I could work hard on my shots definitely.”
