For the third nine weeks of the 2023-2024 school year, the middle school will have another incentive party. Mike Ryan, one of the principals here at DMS, says that he thinks this incentive party will be more effective than the last. Ryan said “Some of the students may not have realized how fun it was, and when students came back from the last incentive party saying how fun it was it would have motivated others to try to qualify for this incentive party.
He says that there will be blow-ups and giant slides, along with games and music at this next incentive party. He says that the warm springtime weather and outside activity may help attendance at this incentive party.
He says that the biggest incentive may be the bonus of getting out of class and that getting out of class may be the biggest incentive. He says that no particular grade does better with qualifying and that he wouldn’t want to single out a particular one because he wants every grade to do their best, and that so far the incentive has been effective at getting people to keep their grades up.
Critter Drake, an eighth-grade student, said that while he barely remembers the incentive party and it was practically a daydream, he thought it was pretty okay. Drake said he has been working hard to keep his grades up even though school is not hard. He says he is excited to play games at the next incentive party.
Sixth-grade student Mason Sanders says that he enjoyed the last incentive party because he got to dance. Sanders said he will be keeping his grades up for these nine weeks and that he is excited to go to the next incentive party.
