Duncan Middle School is kicking off its annual chocolate bar fundraiser. For this fundraiser, the students sell chocolate bars for money, the money will go to buying supplies, helping fund incentive parties, or funding events at DMS. Each box contains 30 chocolate bars that sell for $2, totaling $60. Big Kahuna is the chocolate brand that students will be selling.
There are 5 different flavors of chocolate in the box: Almond Bar, Sea Salt Carmel, Pecanbacks, Carmel Bar, and chocolate-covered almonds. Numerous prizes are awarded to those who sell multiple chocolate boxes. The more you sell the better the prizes are. Turning in the slip to begin selling gets students a prize as well.
For selling one kit they will be rewarded with a jump rope. If selling 2 kits, a mega bounce ball, or 3 kits the person will be invited on a party bus that will take them out to lunch. and a free lunch. 4 kits sold will award a gravity yoyo. 6 kits will grant a sky spinner, and 10 kits will give a mega bounce ball Xl. For 20 kits sold a $100 Amazon gift card will be given. For selling 40 kits you could be given a 75-inch TV, an Xbox Series X, a Playstation 5, or a $500 Amazon gift card.
The fundraiser is going to be from February 12th to March 4th.
Collins Budowsky, a 7th grader at DMS said, “Maybe the fundraiser could help us get the funds to replace some things in the bathrooms.”
Jack Lovett, an 8th grader at DMS said, ”I think this fundraiser will help the students by raising funds so that we can do more cool events.”
Addison Rowell, an 8th grader at DMS said, “This fundraiser brings money to the school, and it helps the school be able to put on showcases, help students that struggle financially, and many other things. ”
Ruby Miller, another 8th grader at DMS said, “Last year I sold ½ a box of chocolate. This fundraiser helps our school by providing money. I think that having the students do the fundraising helps them feel included in leaving DMS in a better place than it was when they first came.”
