Duncan Middle School has begun its annual school musical. This year the musical will be “A Year With Frog and Toad”. Frog will be played by Stella Boward and Toad will be played by Ambry Sorensen.
Courtney Miles and Cara Peyton are in charge of the musical. They are both vocal music teachers at DMS. Miles and Peyton held auditions on February 1st for all students interested in being a part of the musical. The musical has a total of 17 members participating.
Miles stated, “I want to give my students the opportunity I had when I did musicals as a kid.” She also said, “I not only did musicals in school I also did them for church, and many programs. I loved it so much because they made it an amazing experience for not only me but for my classmates.”
Aubrey Moore, who will be performing in the musical said, “I love blocking, which means going over the scenes by acting stuff out.”
Lily Jay is a part of the musical ensemble. Jay said, “It is really fun so far.”
Ambry Sorenson, one of the leads in the play said, “ I like singing and I want to become an actress when I grow up.”
The musical is due to take place on April 12th, 13th, and 14th, all of which will be held at the Simmons Center. For the 12th and 13th they will be held at 8:00 PM. The 14th is going to be held at 2:00 PM. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students, seniors, and retired or active military personnel. The tickets are cash only.
