Tuesday was the first basketball games of the 2018 season for the seventh and eighth-grade girls teams. Both teams faced Lawton Mac and lost.

The seventh-grade girls score was 16 to 28, and the eighth-grade girls were 19 to 37.

Eighth-graders Sheridan White, JJ Gregston and Kaitlyn Jordan all said they were proud of their team and thought they did better than what was expected. Seventh-grader Meg Walker said she was not happy about how she played.

The girls said they have several areas that need to work on, such as passing, running the plays, not picking up the ball too early and slowing down the pass. All said they were excited for the next game.

“I have a feeling we are going to win,” White said.

The girls are set to play their first home game today against Elgin. Seventh grade plays at 5 p.m., and eighth grade plays at 5:45 p.m.
