The seventh-grade boys dominated their basketball game against Lawton Tomlinson Wolves on Monday at Tomlinson.
At the end of the game, the final score was 48 to 43 with the Duncan Demons coming out on top.
Seventh-grade player Jayce Ramirez said he was proud of the game’s results but said there are areas the team could improve.
“We need to work on playing defense earlier in the game,” Ramirez said. “I need to work on my jellies. I need to work on them because people try to block my left so I need to be able to switch and hit them with the right handed layup.
“It feels great being 3 and 0. It makes us more intimidating.”
Kayden Armstrong, another seventh-grade player, said the team could use work on passing without turnovers. However, Armstrong said there were things he personally needed to work on.
“I need to work on getting in front of the ball and taking charges,” Armstrong said.
Armstrong is proud of the seventh-grade team’s winning streak.
“It feels amazing to be 3 and 0,” he said. “It makes me feel as if I have a good team to back me up.”
Jackson Lehrer, who also plays for the seventh-grade team, said he was proud of the DMS team defeating the Tomlinson Wolves.
“My favorite part of the game was when we won,” Lohrer said. “I think we could have played better and put up more points, but a win is a win for us Demons.
The next game for the DMS Demons will be against Lawton Ike at 4:30 p.m. Thursday at Ike.
