The seventh-grade boys’ restroom is shut down until further notice because of poor behavior.
Bathrooms throughout the school have been closed repeatedly over this year and other years because of graffiti, fighting, and trashing the restrooms. However, the other bathrooms throughout the school will remain open unless more poor behavior has happened.
“Vandalism is a very frustrating thing. Destroying something you do not own is very disrespectful and can be very disrespectful to fix,”Principal Rodney Strutton said.
Seventh-grade boys will have to go to the office, sign a sheet and use the restrooms in the commons area if they need to go. The other restrooms will also close if the same issues happen in other grades.
If more issues happen, then all the bathrooms will be permanently closed for the year.
Strutton said he is disappointed in the behavior.
“We try to allow as much freedom as possible, but the behaviors of a few people can greatly restrict what we can and cannot allow,” he said.
If behaviors improve, the school will look into opening up the bathroom next week.
