Duncan Middle School baseball had a home game Monday March 25th against Altus.
Talon Lewis has been playing baseball for 8-9 years. Lewisplays 3rd base, outfield and pitcher.
From the game on monday, Lewis said, “something that i think we need to work on as a team is our communication. I think that it’s important because a team with good communication plays well.” he went on to say, “Something positive about the game was that we won.” He said, “I think that one thing the coaches could be better at doing is sitting us all down and pointing out our weaknesses as a team so that we can fix it..” He wants to improve on his batting because he “wants a better batting average.” He went on to say, “The game on Monday went really well, we won and our score was 10:0.”
Hayden Vandagriff has been playing baseball for 10 years, and Vandagriff is a catcher.
Something that he wants to fix is his hitting. He says, “Something positive that happened was that I shared my beef jerky.” He said, “I think the coaches could do a better job at making the signs easier to remember.” He also said “I need to improve on my hitting because it really isn’t any good.” He states “The game on Monday went really well, because we won and played as a team, not individually, which is really important when it comes to a sport like that. We were also not fighting.”
Brody Kraft is also on the Duncan Middle School baseball team. Kraft has been playing for 10 years. He also plays third base.
He thinks nothing can be fixed during the game on Monday. He says “Something positive that happened at the game was that we won.”He went on to say, “ I want the coaches to not make us run as much.” He also said, “I think that I need to improve on my feilding, because I need to be better at playing in the field, and I need to make my plays smoother.” he concluded, “I think that the game went really well because we won by a lot and everything just went well overall.”
Cord Byerly has been playing baseball for 12 years. Byerly plays first base and pitches.
He said, “From the game on Monday, I learned that we, as a team, need to be more vocal with each other and I need to pitch more accurately.” He states “Something positive that happened from the game was that Sam pitched a no hitter.” He continued, “I feel like the coaches need to give us more inspiration when we are playing.” He also said, “I need to fix my pitching because I costed us 5 runs.” He concluded, “Overall, the game went really well and we played outstanding.”
