The Lady Demon Wrestling team had a tournament in Comanche and was a fundraiser for the passing of Noah Presgrove. This tournament was setting up a fundraiser for a scholarship in his name. Presgrove’s parents held this tournament and they called it the “Take Down Tournament”. Many wrestling girls and boys attended this tournament and wrestled hard. The entry fee was 20$ and they raised 18,665$.
Alexis Pomares is a Duncan Lady Demon wrestler. Pomares has been wrestling for 2 years now and her favorite moves are “Blast Double and a snap.” She thinks she has improved a lot with this being her second year.
“I think this tournament was a great way to memorize the passing of Noah Presgrove because they set up a fundraiser. The money that they raised was for a scholarship in his name.” She goes along by saying “This would make Noah so happy knowing so many people care for him and are wrestling for him”
She says “I think I could’ve done so much better at the tournament.” She goes along with “ It was just a practice tournament that doesn’t go on our wrestling track and this is just my second year wrestling though.”
Dani Messenger is another Duncan Lady Demon wrestler. This year is Messenger’s fourth year of wrestling. Her favorite wrestling moves are hip toss, under hook, and cradle.
“I think that especially since it was a small tournament and doesn’t go on our wrestling track, it helped build our confidence and prepare us for tournaments in the future.”
Small tournaments like the Noah one and those you must pay a fee to wrestle don’t go on your wrestling track record.
She stated “I think this tournament was an amazing way to memorize Noah and I liked how they even passed out shirts” She said, “I did good and placed 2nd”
Emma Bridges is also another Duncan Lady Demon wrestler. This is Bridges’ second year wrestling.
She stated “Getting along with my teammates is one of my favorite things about the tournaments and it’s already been an amazing season so far” She also said, “I need to focus more on what I am doing during practice and not talk.”
Jayson Epp is a Duncan Middle School boy wrestler who attended the tournament
Epp said “ He doesn’t know how this wrestling season will go due to the new wrestlers but confidently he thinks they will do well” He also stated, “I think this tournament was a good way to memorize Noah because he wrestled and the tournament was for him.”
