I think tardies should not be a thing because mornings can be hard for everyone and things can happen.
Alarms can not go off, and you can oversleep, which isn’t your fault. Also family things can interfere with making it to school on time.
Although it’s not the best thing to be late, if you end up being there and catching up on all your work, at least you’re putting effort into being there.
One thing that teachers don’t understand is some kids literally don’t have a ride to school. That may be what the bus is for, but some parents don’t trust it.
Certain kids have classes on one side of the school and then have to rush to their next class, which could be across the whole school. It is kind of hard to make it in four minutes.
Also, I don’t think it’s fair if certain teachers count tardies when you’re just a minute late, which results in one tardiy on your Infinite Campus. Once you have four, it is after school detention, which I don’t think is fair if every tardy is only like a minute late.
This is why I think tardies should not be a thing because not everyone can get to class for so many reasons.
