Why everything so expensive now?
It wasn’t that long ago that prices were reasonable. They were fair.
Now, everything is expensive. Eggs are, like, 10 dollar a carton. Orange juice prices are horrid; it’s 4 dollars for a carton of juice that only gets you maybe three glasses.
And don’t even get me started on Legos. We’re talking 20 dollars for a tiny, little box.
I mean, sure Legos were never cheap and have pretty much always been pricey, but you had to work a whole lot less to buy the tiny box than you do now. Now you have to work five hours longer to possibly afford that tiny box.
Game prices are horrible, too. I’m not saying they’ve ever been cheap, but 80 dollars for one Nintendo game and another 500 dollars to buy the console and another 100 dollars for the controllers, it all adds up fast.
At this point, I can buy an X-Box with a game pass.
And then there are gas prices.
They’ve gone up to nearly 3 dollars for a gallon of gas. If you have 20 dollars, you basically get 6 gallons of gas. That might last you for a 40-mile trip before you need to refuel.
Additionally, restaurant prices are awful. You spend 40 dollars for a 6 ounce steak, some mashed potatoes and broccoli. That’s horrid.
And that’s not the worst of it.
Fast food prices have gotten to were they aren’t any better. Those prices are getting to be as bad as other restaurants. Fast food is supposed to be cheap. You’re supposed to be able to go to a fast food restaurant without worrying about the food prices on the menu.
Now the only good fast food that’s cheap is Carl’s Jr.
And my heart goes out to the homies just trying to eat on the cheap.
Now we’re all surviving off the 1-dollar McChicken.
