I think “Clash Royale” takes more skills than chess.
The particular reason is that you have to build a desk that works well and you’re comfortable with. There are more than 15 arenas, where you unlock cards that can be used to make more than 2.5 trillion different decks, not including what evolutions you use.
You must have perfect placement; if you place a card even one tile off, it can cause you to lose the game.
In “Clash Royale,” you have to do it in real time, but in chess, you take turns and can take your time. At the start of the match, you don’t know what your opponent’s deck is, so you have to adapt to what cards they place.
“Clash Royale” has a constantly changing “meta,” while chess has set pieces. You also start with a random hand of four out of eight cards, so you have to strategize with those four cards.
“Clash Royale” also has something called elixir, and certain cards cost a certain elixir, so you have to conserve elixir and use it wisely.
“Clash Royale” is harder than chess because it is never set in stone how it happens, but chess is more or less always the same.
