I love National Junior Honor Society because I love helping people.
I feel it is an opportunity to help and support others. If you love to help others, then the NJHS club is right for you.
Seventh and eighth-grade students can be in NJHS. Students get selected based on their grades, behavior, leadership qualities and other criteria.
They have to have a grade-point average of 3.75 or higher.
I am so glad that I’m in NJHS, and I look forward to helping others when needed.
NJHS previously in the last year did multiple a lot of projects for the school and community. The organization hosted a non-perishable food drive, a toy drive and a book drive.. NJHS members also helped with the Fall Fest at the Simmons Center and traveled to elementary schools to read during Read Across America.
The chapter does have bylaws for its members. Each member is required to have five service points each semester. Members can get more than five. Top point earners are typically recognized during the end-of-the-year awards assembly.
NJHS is also a chance to learn how to be a leader. The organization has six officers, including president, vice president, secretary, treasurer and parliamentarian, all of which are filled by eighth-graders. Seventh-graders get voted in at the start of the year to shadow the current officers and serve in an elect position.
The basic points of NJHS are to lead, help others, do the right thing and be an example for others.
