The Duncan Bands annual fundraiser may seem a bit unorthodox, but the mattress sale has been a money-making venture that helps fund what the band program does in Duncan.
The band mattress sale is scheduled for 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Jan. 31 at the Duncan Middle School.
The band will be selling mattresses to help the Duncan Middle School band raise money for their programs, including concerts, fieldtrips, etc.
The new mattresses have full factory warranties and are available in all of the sizes. There are 25 different mattresses that will be displayed for customers to try out and pick which one suits them the most.
Not only are they going to be selling mattresses but they will also be selling sleep accessories and adjustable power bases. This fundraiser also has delivery and financing available for people who need it.
The band members are asked to help and advertise the fundraiser. There are many different ways to help advertise the fundraiser like handing out flyers, posting the fundraiser on social media, and much more.
“I plan to send out flyers to public spaces,” eighth-grade band student Lee Goble said.
The fundraiser helps in many different ways and not just with the Duncan Middle School Band, but also brings new things to help people who are in need of mattresses, sleep accessories and adjustable power bases.
The fundraiser benefits all levels of band, from beginning band to middle school honor band to the Duncan High School Band and the high school percussion.
The band is under direction of Jeramy Haas, Dawn Haas and Rocio Garcia.
