Because of the threat of severe winter weather heading to the area, Duncan Public Schools has canceled class for Friday. However, the school will be moving to a virtual day, meaning teachers will still be posting assignments for their students to complete.
“We understand that these decisions can create difficulties for families, and we do not make them lightly,” district communications director Allison Spurlin said in a Rooms post. “However, we always err on the side of caution when it comes to the safety of our students and staff. Student safety is our top priority.
“Thank you for your understanding and continued support.”
Duncan currently has four virtual days built into the calendar to give teachers time to plan together and review data as state testing approaches. Friday’s move to virtual will follow the same format, only without teacher being in the school buildings.
