There are two main parts of track: Sprinting/short-distance and long-distance.
Baleigh Davidson runs short-distance and thinks it is the better of the two.
Davidson said one of the perks of short-distance is that you don’t run as much, and the cons include that you have to run. She doesn’t think she could run long-distance, and the particular reason is of her POTS.
She doesn’t think a short distance is hard because she’s the fastest girl. She thinks long-distance is harder.
Davidson’s not certain that all people can do both distances effectively. She thinks the hardest short-distance event is the 4×4.
She doesn’t think she could place in any long-distance event.
On the other hand, Hannah Woods thinks that long distance is better.
“A good part about long distance is you don’t have to sprint,” Woods said. “The worst part is you feel like quitting every day.”
She does think she could run short-distance and not get rolled. She does think long-distance is hard and that it is harder than short-distance.
She does think that certain people can’t run both kinds of distances. She said the hardest event she runs is the 800-meter run. The race she thinks she can win in short-distance is the 200-meter dash.
Deakon Crow runs short distance.
“You don’t have to run for a long time, but the cons are having to sprint full force,” Crow said.
Crow does not think he could run long distances. He does think short distance is still hard. He thinks long distance is harder because you get more tired.
He thinks some people can run both distances, but some can’t. He thinks the worst event of short distance is the 200-meter.
The event that he thinks he could run in long distance is the 4×8, so he could get carried.
