Soccer just competed in its latest tournament, and the players are gearing up for the next round of games.
The girls soccer teams took part in a tournament March 28 in Enid with the first game taking place at 10 a.m. However, even more games are scheduled for the remainder of the soccer season.
Chanel Thompson, a seventh-grader, is looking forward to continue the winning season because she hopes she can get better and has fun with his teammates.
Thompson thinks herself and her team can improve on many things following the tournament.
“I think we can work on many things like communication, better passing and great first touch,” she said.
She predicted that her team would win one game and lose one game during the tournament.
Isla Martin, an eighth-grader, thinks her team was well prepared for the soccer tournament because they have been working hard to get ready for it.
“I think we are doing well, but we always could work on communication and working together as a team,” Martin said.
Prior to the tournament, Martin also predicted that her team would win a game and lose a game, but she hoped they will win both games and go to the championship and win the tournament.
Regardless of what happens for the rest of the season, she also hopes her team does well even if they get scored on and keep their head up.
She’s not alone.
Brooklyn Williams, another seventh-grader, thinks her team is doing a good job this season.
“I think my team is doing well, but they need to learn that they can’t do everything by themselves and learn to work together as a team with 11 players,” Williams said.
She also thinks if they got better and learned to communicate better they would do better in the games.
“My team needs some improvement on many things, and if we learn how to work together, we could be way better,” Williams said.
