Halloween is just around the corner. Oh wait, it’s today. And many people are rushing to get their costumes.

From superheroes to princesses, children to adults, people celebrate Halloween by dressing up. Whether it be for trick or treating or for the office costume party, many people do it.

2018 has introduced many new things like games and movies. The production of these items influence what children and adults dress as for Halloween. Some of the top costumes this year include the Black Panther, Fortnite costumes, the Demogorgon from “Stranger Things” and Michael Myers from the “Halloween” movie series.

Of course, some costumes are timeless, included witch, zombie, ghost, vampire, anything to do with couples, etc. From the 1900’s to the 2000’s people of all ages have been dressing up as that year’s craze. The first Halloween was over 2,000 years ago and everyone dressed up as saints, angels and devils.

Each grade had their own opinion on Halloween costumes and what they were gonna wear. Eighth-grader Mason Surber said he doesn’t mind dressing up, but he doesn’t know what he’s going to dress up as. Jaden Waid, another eighth-grader, said dressing up is OK when you’re young, and she plans to go out as a flying pig.

Seventh-graders Kirzha Powell and Chase DeCarlo said Halloween is cool and they like trick-or-treating for free candy. Powell is dressing up as an actor, and DeCarlo is dressing up as a cowboy.

Dan Bower in sixth grade said dressing up for Halloween was his favorite part. Bethany Mefford, also in sixth grade, said she likes Halloween and she is dressing up as a sugar skull.

No matter what you dress up as just remember be safe, don’t eat too much candy, and go get spooky!
