See you at the Pole is a national day where students from all over the country gather at the flag poles at their schools to pray over there school, country, world and each other. Middle schools, high schools, and colleges all participate in this on the fourth week in September.
Duncan Middle school will host See You at the Pole at 7:15 a.m. Wednesday in front of the school.
See you at the Pole is an opportunity for students from the school to all join as one to pray together. This event has been going on for 25 consecutive years.
What would usually be a normal Wednesday for youth groups at church has been changed. This Wednesday area churches will meet at 7 p.m. at Emanuel Church.
Mike Fitts, DMS seventh-grade teacher and FCA advisor, said the event is good for students because it is student led and is an opportunity for students to pray for each other.
“I think it is a great chance for students to step up and lead in a Christian atmosphere,” Fitts said. “I think this years theme verse, which is ‘A generation seeking Him’ – Psalms 24: 3-6, is a great theme for this year.”
