Seventh and eighth-graders are trying out for All-Region Band.
The band students will be heading All-Region tryouts Saturday in Elgin. Those selected to All-Region Band will perform in Weatherford.
Several Duncan Middle School students are tryout out for the regional band. DMS band students are directed by the band directors Jeramy Haas, Dawn Haas and Rocio Garcia.
Phoenix Bryant is a seventh grader who is trying out for all regions. He is a trumpet player, and he is first chair trumpet.
Bryant said that the SWOBDA music is not hard, and he has been practicing the music. He thinks that the try outs will be fun.
”I could play in a band when I grow up,” Bryant said.
Paige Bates is an eighth grader who is also trying out for all regions. She is also a trumpet player.
She thinks that she will make it on the All-Region Band. She says that the music is not hard for her. She has been practicing the SWOBDA music. She think it will be fun.
She tried out last year and made it, and she wants to go to a cool hotel when they go to Weatherford.
Maeyln Monteith is also an eighth grader who is trying out for all regions. She is another trumpet player. She is not 100 percent sure she will make it.
Monteith says that the music is not really hard.
