Brothers Matthew and Anthony Smiddy share a common interest in football. Both play football for the Duncan Demons.
The boys final football game of the season is tonight against Tomlinson at Halliburton Stadium in Duncan. The seventh grade will play at 5 p.m., and the eighth-grade games starts at 6:30 p.m.
Mathew Smiddy is a seventh-grader, and Anthony Smiddy is an eighth-grade student at the Duncan Middle School. Both of the Smiddy brothers started playing football in the fifth grade.
Anthony Smiddy said that “football was harder” then.
Mathew Smiddy said “practice is a lot different.”
Both said they enjoy football. For Mathew Smiddy, the best thing about football is hurting people. Anthony Smiddy’s favorite think is making touchdowns.
With the end of the football season, both boys will start wrestling. Wrestling season starts Monday, but there is a wrestling meeting set for Friday.
Anthony Smiddy’s plans for the future is to go to the air force and Matthews plans for the feature is to go to college and get a high paying job.
