Seventh-grade DMS have been learning about different country as part of a project in their social studies classes.
The country presentations are worth about 25 percent of their semester grade.
The project started in October, when the countries were randomly assigned to groups through a digital spinning wheel. The students worked in teams that had three to four members.
Chelsea Holiday said she thinks her group did just okay on the project.
Holiday said it could have been better if the script was better. She said her group could have been better but it was randomly picked.
Her opinion on the project was just OK and really thinks her team could have done better. She said her team didn’t make food for extra credit because they did not have enough time to get that part of the project done.
Holiday said her team got a good grade because the members got the work done. And even through the script was just OK, the team still received a good grade on the project, where they received the country Serbia, which is located next to Russia, Romania and more.
She said her team worked well together. She said the project was fun overall.
“Use your time wisely,” Holiday said.
Gary Harris said he thinks his team did terrible on the project because of the people he was grouped with.
Harris said the members of his group needed to do a better job of working as a team. He also said that his team members also wouldn’t help with some of the work, which made the project that much more difficult.
He said the social studies teachers gave a lot of time for the project, but his teammates did not use the time wisely.Â
Harris said his team didn’t make any food for the project, but he didn’t know why since the team would have received bonus points.
His team received Chile as the country to research. And although he thinks the team might have received an OK grade, he doesn’t know what the grade is yet.
